FAQs — PR-8700
What is PR-8700 used for?
Sliding door manufacturing and assembly, aluminium window and door fabrication, fast-paced production line sealing, and general glazing and weatherproofing.
Will PR-8700 stop the panel sliding smoothly?
No. It has a 0.6 MPa tensile modulus, which follows the panel movement without transferring stress into the track. Panels keep running freely as long as the joint is correctly sized and the bead has not bonded where it should not.
How fast does it cure?
Tack-free in 1.2 hours with a 459 mL/min extrusion rate — fast enough that assembled units can be handled without reworking the bead.
Can an acid cure sealant be used on anodised aluminium instead?
No. Acid cure releases acetic acid while curing, which etches anodised aluminium and can dull the finish. PR-8700 is neutral cure, which is the correct choice for anodised and coated profiles.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Standard OEM and private label MOQ is 1,000 pcs per model, with mixed-model trial orders from 3,000 pcs total and stock items from 500 pcs. Typical lead time is 15–25 days after artwork and sample approval.
Is silicone sealant fast cure the same as RTV?
Yes. Silicone sealant fast cure products are RTV — room-temperature vulcanising — one-component sealants that cure by reacting with moisture in the air. "Fast cure" describes the speed of that reaction, not a different chemistry. PR-8700 is a one-component neutral cure RTV sealant, tack-free in 1.2 hours and tested to GB/T 14683-2017, report 2025MK116.
What does an RTV neutral silicone sealant cure by?
An RTV neutral silicone sealant cures by reacting with ambient moisture, releasing a neutral byproduct rather than acetic acid. That is what makes it safe on anodised aluminium, coated profiles and painted surfaces — the reason sliding door assemblies specify neutral cure. PR-8700 is neutral cure and tack-free in 1.2 hours, with 0.6 MPa tensile modulus at 23 °C and no failure at adhesion at maintained extension.
How fast does a fast curing silicone sealant actually get through a production line?
A fast curing silicone sealant is judged on two numbers: how quickly the surface stops picking up dust, and how quickly the unit can be handled without the bead deforming. PR-8700 is tack-free in 1.2 hours, extrudes at 459 mL/min so gunning is not the bottleneck, and holds 0 mm sag on vertical joints. That combination is what sets throughput on a sliding door line.
